INGREDIENTS
- Amarapayar – 250 gms
- Onion – 1 small, sliced thin
- Dry red chillies – 3
- Garlic – 6, finely chopped
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Chilli powder – 1 tsp (adjust according to your spice level)
- Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
- Curry leaves – 1 sprig
- Coconut oil – 2 tbsp
- Salt – as required
METHOD
- In a kadai, heat coconut oil and sputter mustard seeds.
- To it, add dry red chillies, garlic, curry leaves and onion. Saute till the onion turns brown in color.
- Add some salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder and mix well. Make sure the flame is is on low.
- Add the chopped amarapayar and mix everything.
- Sprinkle little water.
- Cover and cook till the amarapayar is soft.
- Serve with rice.
